TAMPA, Fla., April 4, 2016 – Givens Givens Sparks is proud to announce that their legal intern, Elizabeth Devolder, has been chosen as “Law Student of the Year” by The National Jurist.
Currently a law student at WMU-Cooley Law School in Tampa, Devolder was one of twenty-five students across the country to be included in the publication’s inaugural list. The publication’s review team searched for exceptional students with a wide range of interests and extracurricular activities, and in Devolder’s case, a non-traditional student profile. Devolder is a mother of two, the editor-in-chief of the WMU-Cooley Law Review, a teaching assistant, has a nearly perfect GPA, and juggles household duties with her husband, who just graduated from law school in January.
“Family law was a natural fit for me and I’ve found that my time as an intern has been an opportunity to gain first-hand experience in positively affecting the lives of families when they need guidance the most,” said Devolder who has been a legal intern with Givens Givens Sparks since early January. “The family law team at Givens Givens Sparks has been an amazing resource, as the firm has the best people working on each case, at every level.”
When she’s not at school, work, or with her own family, Devolder is serving families in need as a board member with Blaze of Hope, an organization with the mission to provide financial assistance to families of children with a life-threatening medical condition while hospitalized.
