Tampa Hispanic Bar Association Awards Victoria Cruz-Garcia The 2015 Luis Cabassa Award

Victoria Cruz GarciaRobert Sparks Attorneys is proud to announce that Victoria Cruz-Garcia, a principal attorney at the firm, was awarded the Tampa Hispanic Bar Association’s highest honor!

The Tampa Hispanic Bar Association (THBA) awarded Victoria Cruz-Garcia with its highest honor, the 2015 Luis Cabassa Award, at its 9th annual gala dinner and ceremony. The gala was held on November 12 at The Palma Ceia Golf and Country Club.

Victoria Cruz-Garcia is a principal attorney at Robert Sparks Attorneys whose commitment to law, professionalism, and her community is evident in all she does. Cruz-Garcia was formerly on the board for the Tampa Hispanic Bar Association and then became the organization’s president, a title she held for two years.

Cruz-Garcia’s commitment to the THBA contributed to its annual gala expanding from an average of 30-50 attendees to more than 175 guests this year. Cruz-Garcia can be credited with spearheading the THBA’s annual gala, which drew attention from Florida Senator Mel Martinez. Senator Martinez was the keynote speaker at this year’s THBA gala.

Luis Viera, THBA’s incoming president, commented that Cruz-Garcia’s hard work and determination directly contributed to the growth and prosperity of the organization, calling her efforts “nothing short of outstanding.”

At Robert Sparks Attorneys, Cruz-Garcia represents clients in all areas of family law, and her resume is remarkably impressive. A graduate of Stetson College of Law and Rutgers University and the recipient of honors such as Super Lawyers® “Rising Stars” from 2012-2014, the Tampa Hispanic Heritage Trailblazer Award in Education in 2014, and the WMU Cooley Law School ‘Great Deeds’ award in 2013, Robert Sparks Attorneys is proud to have such an accomplished lawyer on the team.

Cruz-Garcia is also an adjunct professor at WMU Cooley Law School where she teaches courses on subject matter such as family violence, juvenile dependency, and juvenile delinquency. Currently, she also serves as the co-chair of the Hillsborough County Bar Association Diversity Committee is on the Florida Bar Association’s special committee on Unethical and Illegal Solicitation of Legal Business.
