Another Day, Another Citizens Investigation

An article in last Tuesday’s Tampa Bay Times by Mary Ellen Klas details two former executives of Citizens Property and Casualty Insurance who violated conflict of interest rules during their time at the state-run insurer of last resort. The executives resigned in May of this year after they were found to have worked on their second business during work hours at Citizens.

This report of ethical lapses at Citizens follows years of bad press for the company. Last year, Citizens executives were cited for overspending, and running a loose corporate environment that needlessly spent Florida taxpayer’s money.
