Another massive sinkhole opened up in Florida this week. The back half of the Minutillo residence in Hudson was swallowed by a sinkhole. Luckily for the homeowners, they were not present at the time. According to this Tampa Bay Times article, the property was already being investigated for sinkhole activity when it collapsed. The home began to sink into the hole at about 3 p.m., and 45 minutes later, the back half of the home was in the hole, and the area had been roped off and marked condemned. The home was located in a neighborhood where there were already confirmed sinkholes, that had been stabilized. Unfortunately for Ms. Minutillo, the stabilization will come too late, if at all. If you or any of your neighbors believe that your house has sinkhole damage, call your insurance company, public adjuster or sinkhole attorney to investigate.
