Governor Scott Wants Inspector General for Citizens

An article in today’s Tampa Bay Times outlined Governor Scott’s decision that there should be an inspector general for Citizens Property Insurance Company. Governor Scott stated that appointing such an inspector general should be a priority for the upcoming legislative session. The governor appears concerned about all of the recent news regarding Citizens’ malfeasance.

There are currently two different inspector general investigations of Citizens; one for investigating reports of lavish spending by Citizens executives, and one for an investigation of the recent dismissal of Citizens’ entire Office of Corporate Integrity.
