Keeping a Journal in Your Florida Divorce

Over the years as a Tampa family law attorney, I have been asked what the greatest help a client can give to the lawyer.  Simply put: write it down. Keep a journal. I don't care what you write.  Your expert  Florida divorce lawyer will know what is important.

Every time your divorce lawyer gets ready for a deposition, mediation, or hearing your file is reviewed.  When your lawyer is able to read about your concerns, history, and facts it helps in preparing for your representation.  If you date your entries they may become evidence. One case I had involved timesharing and child custody of an infant child.  The mother documented every time the father brought the child home early or stopped visitation altogether.  When the parties were in court the husband denied it, but when the mother showed her journal the court believed her.  So help your attorney help you: Keep a divorce Journal.
