Robert Sparks Attorneys’ Robert Sparks was selected as a 2019 America’s Top 100 High Stakes Litigator® for the third consecutive year, and is listed alongside fewer than 0.5 percent of active attorneys in the country.
To meet the criteria to be considered, Sparks verified that he had litigated a case with at least $2 million at stake, either in damages or in the value of a business and was then screened through America’s Top 100 Qualitative Comparative Analysis.
As managing partner and lead trial attorney for the personal injury division of his firm, Sparks has recovered millions of dollars on behalf of his clients in both state and federal courts. On the heels of a $30 million jury verdict in 2017 on behalf of his client, Stephanie Ming, who suffered permanent and debilitating brain damage after she was hit by a vehicle while walking on the side of the road, Sparks has continued to litigate other high-profile injury cases in the Tampa area.
In 2018, Sparks recovered a confidential settlement for an elderly woman who was severely injured on the property of an entertainment venue. The settlement was reached the Friday before a jury trial was set to begin, and after Sparks and his co-counsel, Christopher Codling, had litigated the negligence case for more than three years while the venue ownership fought the victim’s claims.
Also last year, Sparks litigated confidential policy limit insurance settlements for two clients who were injured when the car they were passengers in was hit by a driver who ran a red light. Both passengers suffered multiple injuries in the incident, including brain injuries, neck, back and shoulder injuries.
This year, Sparks will continue to pursue a pedestrian injury case in which his client suffered a closed head brain injury after being hit by a vehicle as she attempted to cross an intersection at a crosswalk in the south shore area of Hillsborough County.
